Orchestra Miami’s Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Family Fun Series continues with Carnival on Sunday, Feb. 13, 3pm at Pinecrest Gardens! In this exciting performance, you and your family can learn about the music and traditions of Brazilian Carnival and the traditions of Capoiera presented by Brazilian Carnival by Gil Santos. Created by Brazilian slaves in the state of Bahia, Capoiera is a Brazilian cultural expression which combines martial arts, sport, popular culture, dance and music and is considered one of the greatest symbols of Brazilian culture. Enjoy music and dance from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and others!!
This wonderful concert will feature dancers Ingra Sancho, Laís Lopes and Elke Dietrich along with Marcos Melo Capoeira Joao Alonso, and Marcio Cardoso on percussion.
