Ravenna Maera
Company manager
Filipina-American soprano Ravenna Maer began her musical career as a cellist, studying in the local Magnet School system and continuing into college as a Cello Performance major at Florida International University. While there, she made the difficult decision to switch her focus to vocal performance instead and made the change to major in Opera Performance at New World School of the Arts. Ravenna is a long-time member of the chorus of Florida Grand Opera, as well as the soprano section leader and soloist at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral of Miami.
Ravenna has performed with Orchestra Miami several times throughout the years, most recently as Mama Bear in their Family Fun Series production of “Goldie B. Locks and the Three Singing Bears,” and as a member of the chorus in “The Road of Promise.” In addition to her work as a musician, Ravenna is an experienced paralegal and office manager with 12 years’ experience, specializing in retirement accounts and local real estate. When not on stage or assisting Orchestra Miami, she can usually be found outside in the Miami heat on a bicycle or a run trail, training for triathlons and other endurance sports.
